Here at Kid Changemakers our aspiration is to help everyone in need in our community. We get closer to achieving our goal through numerous charity drives and projects.

Our first projects involved bringing friends and neighbors together to collect items for food drives and bagged lunch donations. We have donated to numerous charities that help the homeless and food insecure including Sarah’s House and the Lighthouse Shelter.  Our team of youth volunteers gathers every week to serve the community. We work in a local food pantry, serve in a community soup kitchen, work in a co-op garden to donate produce, and make regular visits to our senior center. We also serve foster youth through the Blue Ribbon Project. We teach classes on important life skills so that foster teens can succeed outside of the foster system. Recently, we set up drives for natural and man-made disasters. We have helped thousands affected by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Dorian, and the government shutdowns.  During the pandemic, we stepped up our services through pop-up pantries, food deliveries to homebound families, sending masks to vulnerable populations, and providing refurbished computers to students in need to facilitate e-learning. Our efforts recently took to us to Annapolis, where we successfully lobbied for the removal of the diaper tax in Maryland. SB316 passed and will save families millions of dollars each year.  Our hope is to inspire young people to give back to their communities and to show the world that kids can make a difference in an adult world!
